History

Eric Krueger was born and grew up in Whitter, California.  He first discovered his love of aviation as a young boy.  Model airplanes caught his interest at 7 years old, and by the time he was 10 he was designing and flying his own designs.  It was 1971 when he read an article about hang gliding in Saga Magazine.  Within a couple of weeks he started designing, building and flying hang gliders.

His dad, Darrell Krueger was an R&D electronics engineer for Huges Aircraft.  Darrell guided and mentored Eric in developing a love of engineering, building, developing ideas and taking flight.  Although his mother was a nurse and forbid him to ride motorcycles, somehow for the following 4 years, jumping off of mountains and cliffs was okay.  In those days, a hang gliding rule was “you just didn’t fly any higher then you were willing to fall”... Seriously... sorry mom.

Eric got his first job at Comet Airways at the Yuba County Airport in 1978.  He was appointed to the Director of Maintenance for that repair station in 1980.  Running a repair station and getting to the bottom of problems was a challenge.  He found that although many mechanics had opinions of how to fix something, it often wasn’t good enough.  He would call manufacturers and discuss with engineers these products.  Years of this input had thrusted Eric to a more complete and detailed understanding of maintenance and modifications.

In 1984, Eric opened Krueger Aviation with a goal to become a leader in aviation excellence in maintenance and service.  Over the last 30 years Eric has become a published author on all things aviation.  His dedication to quality of service and maintenance is unsurpassed in general aviation.
